About Kelly

The proprietor of KJ's Cottage is Kelly J. Eveleth. Kelly J. Eveleth is a Professional Educator with 15 years of experience in the public education setting participating in many school improvement tasks and working through many of today's current issues. Her students demonstrate success of meeting the learning expectations of today's standards in a community of English as a second language. With learning as a signature strength, Kelly has responded to the beckoning of her Creator to be a Christian Life Coach. She is a Certified Christian Life Coach through the Professional Christian Coaching and Counseling Academy. Also, after listening to the Voice of the Holy Spirit, she shares her love and understanding of life through the medium of writing.

Kelly's Beliefs

I believe in a strengths paradigm. I came upon a strengths profile which I have found to help me clarify my core values. In Buckingham and Clifton's book, Now Discover Your Strengths, words were given to help me understand more of who I am. In junior high I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior. How does this connect to the strengths profile? At that time in my life I was searching for a relationship with my Creator. And, my Creator responded. My signature theme, or strength, is that I am a Relator. A Relator is described as one who is drawn to people desiring genuine relationships. A Relator is willing to take risks for authentic relationships and this implies that I am not afraid of a unique closeness in relationships. As this is how I have been created, I have come to believe that all of humanity has been created to have a relationship with a Living God.

I believe that our Living God has made Himself known to us through His Holy Spirit and that His Spirit lives within us when we invite Him. Through the Holy Bible, the words of our Living God have been spoken. I believe that the words spoken in the Scripture are words of truth.

The words of truth claim that Christ is the Son of God. The actions of Christ demonstrate that we have a loving God who accepts us as we are. I believe that every one has the opportunity to respond to our Creator through a personal relationship with Christ. We, on our own, are not worthy for scripture tells us that "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." Yet, through a relationship with Christ, we can become all of who God has created us to be. Christ acted on our behalf at the cross. He died a sinner's death yet he was not a sinner.  He took our sins and paid the debt. In order for us to see who He truly is, Christ then made himself visible in the flesh through His resurrection three days later after the death at the cross. This is the truth I have accepted.

Prayer is our way of communicating in this ultimate relationship. Just as we are individuals, prayer can also be very individual. I believe that prayer is the unique manner in which we come to understand the words of our Creator. Worship is also a way in which I believe how a relationship with God grows. Worship is our action of love towards God.  How one is during worship is the authentic self. Complete acceptance allows communion. The deeper the communion, the stronger the relationship. Only from God's grace can this relationship be.
